We have just all enjoyed a very special week celebrating our 100th anniversary. On Monday our father Douglas Doughty was presented with the KALC Community Award for his services to the village of Doddington, by the High Sheriff, Paul Barrett.
Then on Saturday we welcomed family, friends and local villagers, many of whom, were long standing customers, to a garden party behind the shop. We enjoyed Doughty’s award winning sausages, beef pasties, a selection of tasty Kentish nibbles and strawberries and cream. This was accompanied by Doughty’s delicious Centenary apple juice, Duddas Tun cider and Biddenden wine.
The 100th anniversary cake was cut by the three longest serving staff members , Bruce Hipwood, Terry Thrower and Barry Thrower who between them had worked for a total of 139 years for the business!
